The first version of Coyam was made in 2001, and until 2003, when Gê came out, it was Emiliana's top wine and the first red wine from the Los Robles estate, which owns some 90 hectares of vineyards planted in 1992 in the Colchagua Valley. Coyam still comes solely from Los Robles and is still a multi-varietal (this year it is 38% syrah, 34% carmenere, 7% cabernet sauvignon, 8% garnacha, 5% monastrell, 4% carignan, and the rest is tempranillo and petit verdot). But what it no longer is, is that heavier wine with greater extraction. The new Coyam has a focus on red fruits, soft tannins, fluidity, and body that is agile here, complemented by refreshing acidity. One of our favorite Coyams, as was the 2021. (Descorchados,2025)
